This Cookie Policy explains which cookies are used on www.ggchemical.net, why they are used, how long they are kept, and how you can control them.
It is issued under Article 5 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK") and the guidance of the Personal Data Protection Board on cookie practices, together with Article 6 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive. Both regimes are addressed in a single document so that the two never diverge.
How we process personal data generally is explained in our Privacy Notice. Processing that relies on your consent is described in our Consent Statement.
1. What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device through your browser when you visit a website. Cookies allow a site to function, to remember your preferences, and to measure how it is used.
Alongside cookies, technologies such as local storage, session storage and pixels can serve the same purposes. In this policy the word "cookie" covers all of them.
2. When a Cookie Is Personal Data
A cookie on its own may not identify you. Combined with an IP address, a device identifier or a unique user ID, it can make you identifiable. In that case the information processed through the cookie is personal data and falls within the scope of the KVKK and, where applicable, the GDPR.
3. Consent
Under both regimes the rule is the same:
- Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. They are essential for the site to work and for the service you have requested to be delivered.
- All other cookies require your prior consent, given before the cookie is placed on your device.
Consent must relate to a specific matter, be based on information, and be given freely. Accordingly:
- Visiting the site is not consent.
- Checkboxes are never pre-ticked.
- Rejecting is offered on the same screen and with the same visual weight as accepting.
- Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
- Refusing does not prevent you from using the core functions of the site.
- Closing the banner without choosing is not treated as consent.
4. Cookies We Use
4.1. Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function and to stay secure. These cannot be switched off and do not require consent.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Retention | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| wires | ggchemical.net | Maintains your session and protects it. Required for the contact form to work correctly. Set with the HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite attributes. | Session — deleted when the browser closes | First party |
| pwcm_consent | ggchemical.net | Stores your cookie choices so that you are not asked again on every visit, and records that consent was given. | 180 days | First party |
| _GRECAPTCHA | google.com | Google reCAPTCHA bot protection. Prevents the contact form from being submitted by automated software. Loaded only on the page containing the form. | 6 months | Third party |
4.2. Functional
Not used. We do not set cookies to remember display or language preferences. If this changes, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested beforehand.
4.3. Analytics
These help us understand how visitors use the site so that we can improve it. They are placed only with your consent and are blocked until you give it.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Retention | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | ggchemical.net | Distinguishes one visitor from another (Google Analytics 4) | 2 years | First party |
| _ga_MZBYBEP82P | ggchemical.net | Maintains the measurement session. The suffix is our Google Analytics measurement ID. | 2 years | First party |
We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled. Google Consent Mode is implemented: before you consent, all Google storage signals are set to denied, and the analytics script is not loaded at all. If you later withdraw consent, the signals are set back to denied.
4.4. Marketing and advertising
Not used. No cookie is placed for behavioural advertising, retargeting or advertising partnerships. The advertising signals sent to Google (ad storage, ad user data, ad personalisation) remain set to denied at all times.
5. Third-Party Content
Some content is provided by third parties. It is not loaded until you choose to load it:
| Content | Provider | When it loads | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Maps — contact page | Google Ireland Ltd. | Only when you click to display the map | A connection is made to Google and your IP address is transmitted |
| WhatsApp link | WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. / Meta | Only when you click the link | The application opens; no cookie is placed by this site |
Until you load this content, no data is sent to the provider.
6. How to Manage Your Preferences
6.1. On this site
Use the "Change Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of every page. You can reopen the preference panel at any time, withdraw consent you have given, or change your choices. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it. When you withdraw consent, the cookies concerned are deleted, not merely prevented from being written again.
6.2. In your browser
Every browser lets you view, delete and block cookies:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage cookies
If you block strictly necessary cookies in your browser, functions such as the contact form may stop working.
7. International Transfers
The servers hosting this website are located in the United States. Data processed through cookies, including server access logs, is therefore processed outside Türkiye and outside the EEA. Because this happens on every visit, the transfer is continuous rather than occasional.
| Recipient | Country | Nature |
|---|---|---|
| Leaseweb USA, Inc. — hosting | United States | Continuous |
| Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC — reCAPTCHA | Ireland and United States | Continuous |
| Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC — Google Analytics | Ireland and United States | Only with your consent |
| Google Ireland Ltd. — Maps | Ireland | Only when you load the map |
Under Article 9 of the KVKK, as amended with effect from 1 June 2024, transfers abroad rest on three successive grounds: an adequacy decision, failing that appropriate safeguards, and failing both, the exceptional cases that apply only to one-off or occasional transfers. Explicit consent sits in the third tier only and cannot support a continuous transfer. Our hosting transfer is therefore based on appropriate safeguards.
For data subjects in the EEA, transfers to the United States are made under the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission. Section 6 of our Privacy Notice explains this in full.
8. Your Rights
You have the rights set out in Article 11 of the KVKK and, where the GDPR applies, in Articles 15 to 22 — including access, rectification, erasure, objection, and withdrawal of consent. They are listed in section 8 of the Privacy Notice.
To exercise them, use our Data Subject Application Form. We respond within thirty days at the latest.
9. Changes to This Policy
This policy is updated when the cookies we use or the applicable law change. The current version is always published on this page.
